Website delivery

This website uses Google Firebase Hosting. Blog posts are also loaded from Google Cloud Firestore; the blog database is in the EU eur3 region. Requests send necessary connection data, including IP address, time, requested URL and browser details, to Google for delivery and security. The purpose is secure website operation, based on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The database region does not mean that all processing, including hosting and authentication, takes place only in the EU.

Email contact

If you email Oliver, your sender address, message and voluntary details are used to answer your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual requests, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) for answering correspondence. An enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Retention depends on the purpose and applicable legal duties; data no longer needed is deleted.

Editorial access, cookies and external links

Only the separate editorial area uses Google sign-in, with browser storage needed for authentication and session handling. Readers do not need to sign in. No analytics, advertising, map or social-media trackers are embedded. External services open only when you follow a link and then apply their own privacy notices.

Your rights

Subject to applicable legal conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority. Please use the contact address above for requests.
